What is GARRbox

GARRbox is a personal cloud storage service for file storage and sharing. It is an alternative to existing commercial services designed specifically for the Italian research and education community. It allows data synchronisation across different devices, such as PCs, tablets and smartphones, and enables collaboration and resource sharing with other users and work groups.

Recipients of the service

It is dedicated to organisations connected to the GARR network that adhere to the digital identity Federation IDEM. GARRbox was born for the world of education and research. It does not sell information to third parties, does not index data and in no case does it disseminate activity logs. Thanks to the IDEM digital identity Federation, access is controlled and verified. Resources are guaranteed over time and no unilateral changes to agreements are planned. Data is kept within national borders, ensuring full compliance with laws on privacy, copyright and resilience.
